Toshio Kobayashi, Vice-chairman of the board of directors of Suzhou NDK Co., Ltd. (located in Suzhou New District, Jiangsu Province, China : Chairman of the board Hiroshi Takeuchi, Capital fund 47.2 Million USD, hereinafter referred to as Suzhou NDK) has received the “Jiangsu Friendship Award.” This award is granted to individuals who live in Jiangsu Province and contribute to the development of the economy, culture and human resources in Suzhou.
A ceremony was held in Tokyo today, in which Japanese companies operating in the Suzhou New District were appreciated, and awards were granted to companies whose contribution in social and environmental areas was considered significant. On this occasion, Toshio Kobayashi was selected to receive the “Jiangsu Friendship Award” for contributing to social aspects of the area.
Suzhou New District began to welcome foreign investment in 1992 and currently 1,300 companies are operating in this district, of which more than 300 are Japanese.
Suzhou NDK was established as a wholly-owned subsidiary in January 1994, and was one of the earliest Japanese companies to start operation in the area. The company has been steadily growing, and has increased its capital for six times. It produces various crystal devices such as crystal units, crystal oscillators and crystal blanks.
Toshio Kobayashi took charge as managing director in April 1994, and has contributed much in establishing the operation of Suzhou NDK. He has been in his current position since July 2006 and continues to contribute to the development of Suzhou city.
