Senior Chief Engineer Mitsuaki Koyama of Nihon Dempa Kogyo Co., Ltd. has received the 2004 METI Minster Award for contributors to industrial standardization. The award ceremony was held in the International Conference Room, located on the 8th floor of the Otemachi JA Building on Tuesday, October 12, 2004.

The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry gives this award to individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to industrial standardization in Japan.

Koyama received this award because of his tremendous contribution to the establishment of industrial standards such as JIS and other international standards relating to resonators and filters, which are essential piezoelectric devices used in communication equipment.

The 2004 award for contributors to industrial standardization was given to a total of thirty-one individuals and three organizations.
