In recent years, the advancement of vehicle functionality has led to expanding demand for communication devices utilizing communication methods such as BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) Wi-Fi Ethernet and UWB (Ultra-Wideband). With the progress of ADAS and autonomous driving technologies, the need for higher functionality and precision is expected to accelerate further. The use of highly precise timing devices is indispensable for exact communication among devices. Additionally, the number of modularized systems installed in vehicles is increasing, which, in turn, is driving demand for low-profile products that can be mounted within such modules.
In response to these market needs, NDK has successfully achieved significant improvements in the frequency stability of ultra-compact crystal chips by leveraging our in-house cultivated high-quality crystals, and proprietary photolithography technology. As a result, NDK has attained frequency stability of ±40 ppm (*2) over a wide operating temperature range, from -40°C to +125°C, in its 1612 size crystal units, which have a proven mass production track record of over ten years. Furthermore, contamination risk has been significantly reduced through the transition from conventionally mechanically processed crystal chips to photolithography-processed crystal chips. This advancement enables the delivery of products that offer both high frequency stability and high reliability.
NDK will continue to contribute to the realization of a safe, secure, and comfortable society through our business in crystal devices and related products
