NDK History (the company overview)
- When was NDK established?
- NDK was established at Nihonbashi, Chuo-ku, Tokyo on April 15, 1948. Its production and sales of crystal units began in November 1949. In June 1950, the head office was relocated and registered at Ohyama-cho, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo. Please refer to the "History" page in the "Company" section of this website.
- When were the stocks initially publicly offered?
- Stocks began trading on the Japan Securities Dealers Association's OTC market in June 1963. The stocks were listed on the second section of Tokyo Stock Exchange in December 1990, and relisted on its first section in September 1998.

- NDK is an integrated producer and seller of crystal devices such as crystal units, crystal oscillators and crystal filters, and other crystal-related products such as synthetic quartz crystals, crystal blanks and ultrasonic transducers.

The parent company produces crystal units, crystal oscillators and crystal filters, and markets them as well. Production of these products is also assigned to the following of our affiliated subsidiaries: Furukawa NDK Co., Ltd., and Hakodate NDK Co., Ltd., all in Japan, and ASIAN NDK CRYSTAL SDN. BHD., NDK QUARTZ (M) SDN. BHD. and Suzhou NDK Co., Ltd., all overseas. Furthermore, the following affiliated subsidiaries are engaged in marketing of products produced by the parent company in their respective territories; NDK America, Inc. primarily in North America, NDK Crystal Asia Pte. Ltd. primarily in Southeast Asia, NDK Europe Limited. primarily in Europe, and NDK ELECTRONICS (HK) LIMITED primarily in Hong Kong, Taiwan and South area of China. NDK-Electronics Shanghai Co., Ltd. is engaged in marketing in the entire Chinese market except for its southern region.(2) Ultrasonic transducers, synthetic quartz crystals, crystal blanks and others :
The parent company produces ultrasonic transducers, synthetic quartz crystals, crystal blanks etc., and markets them as well. Production of these products are also assigned to the following of affiliated subsidiaries; Furukawa NDK Co., Ltd. in Japan and NDK QUARTZ (M) SDN. BHD. in Malaysia.
