Nihon Dempa Kogyo Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Shibuya Ward, Tokyo; President & CEO: Hiromi Katoh, hereinafter referred to as "NDK") is pleased to announce the development of the high stability TCXO "NT5032SQ", designed for 5G base stations and data centers. This oscillator features outstanding frequency-temperature characteristics of ±50 ppb and is capable of operating at temperatures up to +105°C.

Highly precise timing synchronization between base stations has become essential for maintaining communication quality due to the rapid spread of 5G technology.
In addition, data centers are required to support real-time processing, high-speed data transmission, and high system reliability. These functions are enabled by a reference clock that must meet extremely high technical requirements including superior frequency stability, wide operating temperature range, low jitter, and low power consumption.

Our new product, the NT5032SQ, is a high-performance crystal oscillator designed to meet these demanding requirements. It achieves world-class low current consumption, frequency stability of ±50 ppb, and operates in a high temperature range of up to +105°C. Furthermore, compared to conventional crystal oscillators, the NT5032SQ offers superior resistance to shock and vibration, ensuring reliable performance even under harsh environmental conditions.

This product is a timing solution designed to meet the needs of advanced fields such as telecommunications, cloud service providers, and smart factories, serving as a foundation for next-generation technologies and social infrastructure.

Technical Superiority of NT5032SQ

Our product, the NT5032SQ, achieves outstanding frequency-temperature characteristics of ±50 ppb across a wide temperature range from -40°C to +105°C. This is made possible by incorporating our uniquely designed photolithographically processed crystal units, which significantly improve hysteresis performance. As a result, the NT5032SQ ensures stable operation even in the harsh thermal environments of 5G base stations and data centers.

Furthermore, regarding phase noise characteristics, which are directly linked to communication quality, the NT5032SQ adopts a fundamental oscillation method using high-Q crystal units. Leveraging our vertically integrated manufacturing from raw crystal material growth to finished oscillator production, we have achieved world-class phase noise levels of −97 dBc/Hz @10 Hz, −144 dBc/Hz @1 kHz, and −162 dBc/Hz @100 kHz (f₀ = 38.88 MHz).

This level of phase noise performance exemplifies the strength of our quartz oscillation technology, particularly in frequency stability and noise suppression where MEMS-PLL solutions often face challenges.

Moreover, while delivering this high performance, the NT5032SQ is also designed for high reliability and low current consumption, contributing significantly to overall system-level energy efficiency.
