Evaluation of Peptide's property of binding to PMMA stereo- complex membrane

Evaluation of peptide's property of specifically binding to stereo complex Polymethacrylate (PMMA) and the evaluation of streptavidin's binding property via biotinylated peptide.

5.Glossary

PMMA (Poly Methyl Methacrylate) PMMA, poly methyl methacrylate, is a kind of acrylic resin
Stereocomplex membrane Spiral structure membrane in which 2 kinds of PMMA (isotactic and syndiotactic structure ) interact each other.
Avidin Glycoprotein contained in egg albumen. The molecular weight is approximately 67,000. The bond between avidin and biotin is very strong. Bacteria-derived Streptavidin (MW:approx.60,000) is a similar protein, and is often used as well. Since Streptavidin does not have sugar chain, less nonspecific binding occurs as compared with avidin.
Biotin A kind of water soluble vitamin that binds to avidin strongly. Molecular weight is approx. 244.
